Jesse Lynn Buchanan found eternal peace on December 31, 2017 at the age of 23. He passed away unexpectedly, and has left behind his family and countless friends who loved and adored him. Born in Bremerton, Washington on November 22, 1994, and part of a military family, Jesse moved to Connecticut at a young age, and then to Georgia where he spent the majority of his life. While it is nearly impossible to put into words how much he is and will be missed, it is easy to find words that described him and his beautiful soul. Jesse enjoyed sports when he was young – tee ball, football, soccer – but when he hit his teens, it was clear his passion in life was music. Jesse loved the guitar and accumulated quite a collection in his short life. He was a member of multiple bands, played in live shows, and he was truly at peace with a guitar in one hand and a blue in the other. Jesse was an adventurous soul who loved traveling, and was able to make many road trips across the US, and even went backpacking through Europe with friends to explore Switzerland. He loved road trips, camping, and jamming to funky music. Jesse was full of compassion, graciousness, and selflessness. He could be counted on, no matter the time of day, to come to anyone in need of a favor, a listening ear, or a shoulder to cry on. In the summer of 2017 Jesse moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he was doing very well for months before his passing. He enjoyed the last months of his life hiking, rock climbing, and working at a ski lift. He learned to care for himself in Utah, all while still putting others first. While his life was short, the lasting impressions and memories of his smile, laughter, and free spirit will live on for a lifetime in the hearts of all who knew him. Jesse is survived by his loving and devoted mother Amy, loving father Ken, his two sisters (who only acted like his mother sometimes) Kelly and Melody, his maternal grandparents Linda and Ron, his paternal grandpa John, his uncles Gary and Keith, and Aunt Anne. A celebration of Jesse’s life will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2017, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Wages and Sons Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, GA. Thank you to everyone who supported, encouraged and loved Jesse every day. You all make him the amazing person he was, is, and always will be. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a charitable donation to Shatterproof, an organization committed to saving and changing lives of those struggling with addiction. With love, Jesse’s Family

  8. I know the pain and heartache of loving a child broken by this world and a wretched disease — my son and son-in-law knew your precious Jesse while at Purple; he played in my son-in-law”s band Bird Laww for a while, as well. Your family has been and will continue to be in my heart and prayers. I do so hope you know his battle was not about you and that he IS at last free. I pray you are able to heal and find peace in your lives. . . remember the story is never over, and you have much to share with others who carry similar burdens and are living in the same nightmare still. God bless you and be with you.

  9. Prayers for you and your family Amy! As a mother I cannot imagine your pain! Prayers for comfort and peace to you! Prayers for strength in the days ahead!
