Jill Elizabeth Sigl

Jill Elizabeth Sigl, 69, of Stone Mountain, Georgia passed away on May 22, 2021 from a long battle of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Jill was born on February 26, 1952 in Shaker Heights, OH. Her family later moved to Novelty, OH were she attended high school at West Geauga and met the love of life, Mark Sigl, in English class. Jill and Mark dated the rest of their high school years, even having a long-distant relationship for a few years, when Mark’s family moved to Georgia. Jill also attended Kent State University, in Ashland, OH, where she got her degree in business and spent her career in the mortgage loan banking industry.

Jill loved to sing, loved Chevrolet Camaro’s and loved sports. She grew up going to the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians games with her grandfather. However, nothing could compare to love she had for the Atlanta Braves! Jill also began her love of Chevrolet Camaros at a young age. Her Uncle owned a dealership and when she turned 16, he took her to his dealership and told her pick one out. She picked out the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Indianapolis 500 Pace Car. Even when Jill became a mother to Sean and Shannon, she still drove a Camaro (the coolest mother in town), which Sean and Shannon nick-named “Awesome”.

Jill is preceded in death by her parents, Jack Hurlburt and Jane Hurlburt, and also by her brother Robert (Bob) Hurlburt. Jill leaves behind her high school sweetheart and loving husband Mark Sigl. They have been married for over 48 years and dated 5 years before that. Jill is also survived by her son (Sean Sigl), daughter (Shannon Sigl), brother (John Hurlburt), nieces, nephew and many other family members.

  12. Mark and family, I’m so sorry for your loss. I just found out about Jill’s passing. I lived right across the street from her on Hook Hollow Road, and I remember that Camaro — white with a big orange stripe. She loved that car, and I was thrilled when she would give me a ride to school in it. Coolest wheels around. I lost touch with her soon after high school, but I’ll always remember her great smile and upbeat personality. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
