Jimmie Musick, born on October 30, 1943, in Alexander City, Alabama, peacefully departed this life on January 4, 2024. Jimmie’s journey was marked by dedication, kindness, and a love that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Born to Pelham and Claudie Musick, Jimmie began his education in Alexander City and later graduated from Huntsville High School. In 1964, he embarked on a remarkable career at the Huntsville Times, where he served as a press foreman for over 40 years. Jimmie’s dedication to his craft earned him numerous accolades, including a prestigious Publisher’s Club Award in 1995 and several other work-related honors.

Jimmie’s passion for life extended beyond the workplace, and he showcased his culinary skills by winning local BBQ competitions.

Known for his engineering mind and the ability to “fix” anything, Jimmie approached life with a can-do attitude. He found joy in cheering on Auburn football, attending auto racing events, and expressing his enthusiasm for the things he loved. Jimmie’s kind and big-hearted nature endeared him to family, friends, and colleagues alike. As a boss, he was not only generous but also had the remarkable ability to make people smile.

Jimmie’s love for his family was boundless. His wife and soulmate of almost 60 years, Stella Musick, held a special place in his heart, and his devotion extended to his sons, Glen Musick and Charlie Musick, his sister Mary Kaufmann, and his grandchildren: Kelsey Musick, Courtney Musick, CJ Musick, and Joey Musick. The joy of his life was further enriched by his great-grandchild, Dawson Bell.

Jimmie faced the challenges of his final days with courage and continued to spread joy, always striving to make those around him smile. His family is grateful for his gratitude and sensitivity, which made every moment spent with him special.
