Joanne Arline Meeker, age 88, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017. Joanne was born on April 19, 1928 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Albert William Bigelow and Lila Amy Hill. After graduating from Elkhart High School in 1946, she married William Edward Meeker on August 31, 1947 in Elkhart, Indiana. After moving to Georgia, she worked for Avon Headquarters in Atlanta as Executive Secretary for 20 years until her retirement in 1992. And later became President of the Atlanta Auxiliary at Northside Hospital. She is survived by her children: Douglas Meeker and wife, Cynthia; Margot Meeker; Gary Meeker and wife, Nita; James Meeker and wife, Samantha; grandchildren: Thomas Meeker, Sandra Walker,  Ashley Meeker, Lindsey Meeker, Lily Meeker and Madeleine Meeker; and great grandchildren: Alana Johnson and Cameron Walker; and brother, Alan Bigelow; A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, March 10th, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Arlington Memorial Park, with the Father Kirtley Yearwood officiating.
