John D. Davis of Scottdale, Georgia went to be with the lord on Monday December 02, 2013. John was born in Monroe, North Carolina on July 31, 1921. He married Margaret Smallwood on December 23, 1945. John and Margaret were married for 50 years before she went to be with the lord. John fought in 5 campaigns in the Army during World War II under General George Patton and was awarded the Purple Heart for his Injuries in Germany. John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Davis, parents George and Bette Davis, Brothers Ralph, Jess and Stone Davis and sister Ruby “Sis” Powell. John is survived by George (son) and Jennifer Davis of Snellville, Georgia and Howard and Linda (daughter) Wooten of Lithonia, Georgia, 8 Grandchildren: Jonathan, Kristi, Kimberly, Dana, Amanda, Michael, Phillip, and Anthony. 5 Great Grandchildren: Jordan, Trey, Davis, Joshua and Dylan. 3 Great-Great Grandchildren Allen, Kylee, and Cayden.

We are so sorry to hear of Johnny’s passing, he was one of the best man we knew, our hearts and prayers go out to all of the family. We loved Johnny very much, and no that he will greatly be missed, but our loss is heaven gain, May God comfort and bless his family during this time of their loss.
