John (Junior) William Coker, age 92, of Lawrenceville passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018. He was born in Jersey, GA on June 4, 1926. John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret (Hon) Knight Coker; son, Phil Coker; father, William Luther Coker; mother, Maggie Lean (Allgood) Coker; sister, Mildred Coker and brother, Paul Coker. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda (James) Anglin; son, Steve Coker; grandsons, Jeff Anglin, Brian Anglin and Jason Coker; granddaughter, Melissa Millican; great granddaughter, Katelin Anglin; great grandson, Phillip Anglin; great great granddaughter, Gia Anglin. John was looking forward to the new additions to his family, Emersyn Blake and Clayton Grant; brother, Gary (June) Coker; sister in law, Joann Coker;Also surviving him are several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal during World War II- the 3rd armored division. John held many jobs during his 92 years such as Humphries Concrete in Norcross where he enjoyed driving a forklift until he was in his mid 80’s. He was an avid sports fan. He loved the Falcons and Braves (as long as they were winning.) When they weren't playing he would watch anything NFL, MLB, or college football. games. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00PM on Sunday, December 30, 2018 in the Gwinnett Chapel of Wages & Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Carter, Pastor Lynn Head and Gary Coker speaking. Interment will follow at Jersey Holiness Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include grandsons, great grandson & nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00- 5:00PM on December 29, 2018 at Wages & Sons Funeral Home, 1031 Lawrenceville Highway Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
