John William Tanner

John William Tanner of Roswell Georgia past away, Tuesday, February 3, 2015 in Decatur, Georgia. He was 44. He was born on November 21, 1970 in Wichita, Kansas. He attended North Hall High School and joined the Navy after graduation to serve in Hawaii. John worked as a Mortgage Broker and most recently in sales. He served as a member of the Kiwanis Club and ran for office in 2001 in Forsyth County. A unique soul, John was very funny, and enjoyed playing practical jokes and performing magic with his friends and family. He won several dance competitions and was an instructor for many years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. John is survived by 2 children, Nicolas Andrew, 16 and Sydney Elizabeth, 15, his mother, Norma Jean Roberts, His brother and sister-in-law Paul and Jennifer Tanner of Oakwood, His sister and brother-in-law, Jamie and Matt Hulgan, of Roswell, and his sister and brother-in-law Stephanie and David Ragland of Colbert. John has 4 Nieces, and 6 Nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Clyde Vernon Tanner in 2002. A memorial service was held at the Atlanta Road Church of Christ in Gainesville, on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. A military burial is scheduled for Wednesday, February 17.
