Joseph Elliott Lasserre, age 87, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 in his home in Lawrenceville, GA. He leaves his wife of 63 years, Dottie Ritchie Lasserre; son, David Lasserre (Joan) of El Prado, NM; daughter, Peggy Lasserre Rowden (Clay) of Lawrenceville, GA; grandson, Michael Rowden Lasserre (Rachel) of Birmingham, AL; brothers, Earl Lassere (Rita), Daniel Patrick Lassere (Gertrude); sister, Hazel Scioneaux (Ronald) and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather at Wages & Sons Funeral Home, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy. Lawrenceville, GA 30046 for visitation Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 1PM until 2:30PM. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 2:30PM at Wages & Sons Funeral Home Gwinnett Chapel with Dr. Frank Cox officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1832 Pleasant Hill Rd. Duluth, GA 30096. Memorial Contributions may be made to: North Metro Baptist Church, Hope for the Journey Ministry, or Agape Ministry.

  1. Joe was a wonderful man who I had the pleasure to know through his sweet daughter Peggy. Although his passing makes our world dimmer, I rejoice in the knowledge that Joe is at peace with our Savior.

    We have so many great memories of our trips to North Georgia to watch the turning of the leaves—and looking for “turkeys”—-remember???

  3. My prayers for the Lasserre family during this difficult time. Joe and Dottie, Peggy and Clay are all wonderful people and wonderful neighbors. We will miss Joe. May peace be with you all and know that your precious one is in a better place.

  4. Our love and prayers to Dottie and family at this sad time. Joe was such a nice man who we enjoyed knowing in our Sunday School class. We will have fond memories of Joe and his special smile and twinkle in his eyes. We know that he is smiling in heaven. Our deepest sympathy to Dottie and family.

  9. When I had joined the Cancer Support Ministry at North Metro, I had the privilege of meeting Joe and Dottie. What a sweet couple and a delight to chat with. What I remember the most was Joe’s wit. Ms.. Dottie and family my thoughts and prayers are with you.
