On August 11, 2024, we lost our precious loved one, Joseph “Joey” Vincent Durbin III. He was born 42 years ago on February 19, 1982, and is now survived by his mother, Elva Mae Durbin, his father, Joseph V. Durbin, Jr., his sons with Emily Collie: Easton, Landon and Brayden, his three sisters: Juanita Little (Derek), Denise Carlton (Franklin) and Yvette Jones (Darryl), nieces, nephews, and more family members – too many to list.
Joey was diagnosed with diabetes a little over 10 years ago shortly after Landon was born. He had some major side effects, including gastroparesis as well as kidney failure. Since then, he endured endless pain and had been in and out of the hospital. He would have done anything in the world for his boys. They are the reason he made it as long as he did. Ultimately, his body was tired and his heart couldn’t fight anymore.
Joey’s strong passion for music encouraged him through his most difficult years. Being inspired by his favorite artist, Jimi Hendrix, he taught himself and other family members how to play guitar and drums; he loved to share his own recordings. For many of his last years, Joey was an Entrepreneur and specialized as an A/V Sound and Online Stream Engineer for local area churches since earning his degree from SAE Institute. Our brilliant Joey also taught himself to read, write, and speak Hebrew and taught himself how to read hieroglyphics. He loved to read and had a massive collection of books; especially philosophy.
The family will hold a Goodbye Gathering in the Parish Hall at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 3 p.m. The church is located at 1520 Oak Road SW, Snellville GA 30078.

To know God, is to ones true self. Joey, I am sure God has welcomed you excitedly and with the peace that only He can provide. We may not have known it before, but we now just how much God lived within you.
Sleep Well Joe 🙏🏾
Love Always
Fondly,
