Born in:
Mt. Carmel, Illinois
Resided in:
Auburn, Georgia
Karen Elaine Rittelmeyer, 66, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and generosity.
Born to Mary and Malcolm Dagley on September 29, 1958, Karen grew up as a beacon of kindness and courage, embodying a selflessness that touched everyone in her path. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of laughter, compassion, and an unshakable faith in God.
Karen had a remarkable sense of humor and a heart big enough to embrace the world. Whether she was sharing the gospel of Christ in unconventional and challenging settings or simply brightening a room with her radiant smile, Karen was a light to all around her. Her love for the Lord and His people was unwavering, even in the face of adversity, and her faith inspired everyone blessed to cross her path.
An artist and published writer, Karen had an adventurous spirit that led her to incredible experiences. From skydiving to mission trips to Romani camps and traveling the Amazon River, she lived boldly and with purpose. She also found joy in serving others, mentoring troubled children, working with special needs adults at Creative Enterprises, and opening her home and heart to anyone in need of God’s love.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, David; her children Christopher, Jonathon, and Andrea; her seven grandchildren Alyssa, Kinsey, Zoey, Karlee, Kaelyn, Antonía, and Jordana; and four great-grandchildren Ezra, Emery, Ellis, and Luka; and her siblings, Dave and Kathy. She is reunited in Heaven with her parents, her sisters Jeri and Beth, and her beloved son Joshua, who passed before her.
Karen’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, January 18, at 2 PM, at Glory City Church in Suwanee, GA. Her family invites all who were touched by her love and kindness to join them in honoring her memory and celebrating a life well-lived.
Karen marked this world with her love, faith, and compassion. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
With Sympathy to the Rittelmeyer Family.

David and family:
May all your memories in your treasure chest now carry you thru the heartaches and loss of her earthly presence. A beautiful life who loved Her lord and overcame her trials to live out that testimony will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Still looked like a model with that smile and those 4-5 inch heels carrying joy and love. She carried His light brightly within her.
Karen brought laughter and light even when in the midst of her own difficulties. She will be remembered with love. Our sympathies are with all who forge forward without her – Dawn Echols, Sylvia’s daughter & former Equifax employee (though I knew David, Karen, Josh long before that!)
My deepest sympathy to all of Karen’s family. Karen is my distant cousin, who I never met in person. We found each other on Ancestry dot com, & we connected about our shared family history through messages. It was a great pleasure to find her and communicate with her. Bless her sweet soul & may your memories carry you until we all meet in heaven.
Kathy, we’re so very sorry you’ve lost Karen. She must have been wonderful! You’ve been blessed with so many unusually gifted and generous people in your family. Your loss is huge. But your memories are glorious. Remembering all of you in our prayers. Marjorie Schaefer Goff

Go fly high with the angels
Praying for you and the family, David
I am so grateful that we were able to reconnect 15 months ago in Scottsdale for Alex’s wedding celebration. As children in Illinois, we were each other’s favorite cousin throughout the first eight years of our lives. Even after my family relocation to California, we enjoyed the annual family reunion every summer into our teenage years. Even though the inevitable young adulthood and life consumed us, I am so glad that we remained fond cousin friends.
Now you are in God’s loving embrace, reunited with so much of our family…grandma Hughes, your mom and dad, your sisters Jeri and Beth, Josh, my parents…and so many other family and relatives that we loved. What a wonderful celebration in heaven with our Heavenly Father!
I love you dear cousin.
My deepest sympathy and condolences to you all. I met Karen first at the women’s ministry at GGC Church a few years ago. She was a beautiful ray of light of Christ’s love and I considered her a dear friend/sister in Christ. Even though I didn’t know Karen long, I was touched by her beautiful heart, lovely smile, and kindness to others. She soo loved her family and others. She will be greatly missed. May God’s healing love surround and keep you all during this difficult time and the days ahead.
In Christ’s loving arms,
Carol A Vaughn

So many wonderful memories of Karen. I treasure the times we spent together at JCP. She could truly brighten up the darkest day. My life was blessed by being her friend!
That was a moving obituary. Even though her life was cut short she lived it to the max.
May the grace, love, and peace of our Lord God comfort you and your family as you mourn the loss of your beloved wife. Our prayers are with you.
