Karla’s passion for helping others led her to a career in healthcare, where she made a significant impact as a Respiratory Therapist at Piedmont Hospital for over 30 years. She held an Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy from Reynolds Community College and dedicated her life to caring for others, bringing comfort and healing to countless patients and their families.
Karla’s warmth and compassion extended far beyond her work. She was known for her kind heart, giving spirit, and ability to bring joy and laughter to everyone around her. Whether it was family, friends, or strangers, Karla had an innate ability to connect with people. She was the person everyone turned to for comfort and support, always making those around her feel safe, loved, and understood.
Throughout her life, Karla faced many challenges, especially in her later years, but her strength and resilience were unmatched. She refused to let setbacks define her, using each obstacle as an opportunity to grow. Her unwavering hope and determination were an inspiration to all who knew her. Karla was preceded in death by her twin sister, Kim Prince, and her mother, Alice Hogans. She is survived by her sister, Jan Miller; her son, Ron Hart; her granddaughter, Tyler Hart; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Her family and friends will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Karla’s kindness, resilience, and ability to bring light to the lives of everyone she met will never be forgotten. Her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
