Georgia K. Katsegianes of Stone Mountain, Georgia, passed away on 21 May 2011 at Emory Hospital. A beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Georgia was very active in the Church. She was a former President of the Philoptochos board at the Greek Orthodox Church. She was President of The Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 5257 in Stone Mountain Georgia. She was also involved in the Women's Club and many more. The kindness of her heart was only limited by, not enough time. Georgia is survived by her loving husband Peter J. Katsegianes of Stone Mountain, Son and daughter-in-law Michael P. and Joan Katsegianes of Winder, Georgia and Daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Major Todd Myers of Clarksville, Tennessee. Four grandchildren. Ashlyn, Jacob, Joshua Myers and Nicholas Katsegianes and many niece's and nephews. Georgia is pre seeded in death by Michael and Anna Kalos her parents and Earnest and Voula Saxton her brother-in-law and sister. Visitation services will be held Wednesday 25 May 2011 at Wages and Sons funeral home in Stone Mountain from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-PM a prayer will be given at 8 PM. Funeral will be held on 26 May 2011 at The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Annunciation on Clairmont. Georgia will be laid to rest at the Stone Mountain City Cemetery The family requests that in lue of flowers a donation in her memory be made to a charity she held so dear. The Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children 655 Ethel St. NW Atlanta, GA. 30318. What God has taken home may we forever be blessed by having her in our lives.

  1. I was so shocked tonight when I heard about my friend Georgia. She served in my administratiion as President of the Stone Mountain Woman’s Club. She was the House Chairman and she did a superb job! I thought of her as my friend and I will miss her terribly.My thoughts and prayers are with Pete and children.

Although we did not personally know her, we benefit from her raising a great daughter, Mrs Tammy Myers. The love and devotion as a mother is paid forward daily in the lives of others. Her loss is a reminder to us how precious life is. May she rest in peace.

  8. Georgia taught 5th grade with Ginny in Ridgefield, CT in the early 1960’s. “We shared many good times together. I will always remember her as a mentor and good friend”. Georgia was a classmate of Mike’s at Danbury, CT High School class of 1953. We send our heartfelt sympathy to Peter and her family.
