Geraldine Aunt Jerry Kendrick Departed on September 25, 2013 and resided in Riverdale, Ga. Geraldine A. Kendrick Aunt Jerry, age 74, went to be with Jesus September, 25, 2013. Born January 25, 1939 in Clayton County, Georgia, Jerry was the beloved daughter of Willie Jule Kendrick, Sr. and Clessie Mayo Kendrick. Jerry was preceded in death by her 3 siblings: Mattie Kate Walden, James Edward Kendrick, Sr. and Willie Jule Kendrick, Jr. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Emily Braswell, 4 nieces, 3 nephews, many great nieces and nephews and her cat, Bootsie. Jerry was a life-long resident of Clayton County, living on the family property since her birth. Jerry was known as a humanitarian for animals and adopted many cats over her lifetime. She also had a love for the outdoors, the north Georgia mountains, and a passion for her wildflower garden. Her flowers included wood violets, wild geranium, dwarf Crested Iris as well as Bearded and Beardless Iris, Coreopsis, Jack in the Pulpit, Trillium, Lilies of every type, lamb's ear, perennial hibiscus, Hyacinths, Lady's Slipper, Columbine, wild ginger and mints, Sweet William, Foam Flower, ferns and many others. Those who knew her well, know she was blessed with a witty humor, detailed memory, devoted spirit and determined mind. Jerry loved her family, friends and her Lord Jesus Christ. A Celebration of Life Service is tentatively set for 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6th at Bethel Baptist Church. The church is located at 8 Flint River Road in Jonesboro, Georgia.
