William "SKIP" Kent, 76, of Sparta passed away September 29th 2011. He is survived by his wife, Jessie Kent, his sister in law Jane Travillion and niece Lara Foreman. Skip was born in Las Angeles, CA. He attended High School in Tucson, AZ, upon graduation he joined the US Navy, fighting in the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Arizona and was on the Alumni Board of Directors. He was a passionate sports supporter of The University of Arizona. He raised Labradors and handled them in competitions throughout the United States and also raised Egyptian Geese. Skip Kent was a most unforgettable character, a dynamic business executive and leader who displayed a deep passion in his personal and business relationships. In 1972 in Las Angeles he joined Coldwell Banker, the forerunner to CBRE, and relocated to Atlanta in 1976, where he was the company's first salesperson. In Atlanta he began a nearly 40 year career specializing in commercial real estate brokerage where he hired and trained individuals who have become superstars in the commercial real estate industry. After Royal LePage closed, Skip returned to CBRE as an industrial sales person until a debilitating stroke twelve years ago. We will miss his great talent, pride and love. In lieu of flowers Skip would appreciate your providing an enjoyable time with your friends and family.
