Kishin(Ken) Gobindram Chanani

kishin(ken) chanani

September 14, 1941 ~ May 2, 2024

Resided in: Avondale Estates, Georgia

Mr. Kishin (Ken) Gobindram Chanani, 82, left this earth for his heavenly home on May 2nd, 2024.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Kishin is survived by his wife, Renu Chanani; daughter, Soni Lee; son-in-law Christopher Lee; son, Amar Chanani; brother Kamal Chanani; and grandchildren, Simran Ear (husband Joseph Ear), Sarek Lee (fiancè Ciara Williams), and Sloane Chanani.
Born on September 14th, 1941, Kishin grew up in India, spent his young adult life working in Africa, and moved to the US in 1977. He went on to start a successful career as the owner of multiple retail stores in the southern US such as Shalimar, Oh! Calcutta and New York Emporium. He enjoyed going to trade shows in New York, Gatlinburg, Las Vegas and Atlanta.

Kishin always had a kind word and a smile for everyone he encountered. He was beloved by his family, friends, and customers alike. Always willing to give a helping hand, Kishin valued his family and friends more than anything in life. And he was very good at getting a smile from loved ones. As his youngest granddaughter has said, “He was a silly goofy man who always said whatever random things came to mind, and he was great for it.”

He made every moment count; whether it was walking around his neighborhood, reading a newspaper or visiting the local mall, he would always make every experience fun. His family wishes to honor him in the same way he lived his life: with love, good humor, and shared memories and stories.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10th 1:00pm to 3:30pm at Wages and Son Funeral Home in Stone Mountain.
Satsang in memory of Kishin will be held at Sadhu Vaswani Center in Norcross, GA on Sunday, May 12th at 4pm.
In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made to either St. Jude’s Hospital or American Cancer Society
