Laura Jean Kidd, formerly known as Laura Lacy, passed away on January 8, 2024, at the age of 85. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, to parents Jeanette Cooper and John Lacy, Laura leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Laura’s professional journey led her to a successful career in sales at Date Watchers, where her dedication and friendly demeanor left a lasting impact.

Her greatest joy came from the love and connection she shared with her family. Laura was a beacon of love, especially during the challenging times of her battle with dementia. Her unwavering love and the strength of her spirit continued to shine, making her family feel cherished even amidst the difficulties.

Laura is survived by her devoted daughters, Angela Kidd and Janet Stepp, son-in-law Don Stepp, her grandchildren Chad Stepp, Lacy Stepp, Nick McNeil, and great-granddaughter Jordan Stepp. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jeanette Cooper and John Lacy, and her daughter Cyndee McNeil, who passed away in 1989.

A funeral service to celebrate Laura’s life will be held on Sunday, January 14, at 3:00 PM at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, located at 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA 30046. Prior to the service, friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

The burial will take place at Old Shadowlawn Cemetery on Monday, January 15, at 1:00 PM, providing a final resting place for Laura where she will be remembered with love and reverence.

The family invites you to join them at a Celebration of Life after the funeral service on Sunday, located at Slow Pour Brewery, 407 N. Clayton Street, Lawrenceville, Georgia, 30036.
