Mrs. Ngalan Tam Lee, age 74 of Conyers, died Thursday, February 24, 2011. Born on January 13, 1937 in Taishan city in Guangdong Province, China, she is survived by her loving husband Mr. James Foon Lee, son Dr. Louis Sang Lee, daughter-in-law Virginia, daughter Wendy Sue Lee and son-in-law Garlen. She is also survived by her six grandchildren Luvlan Isobel Lee, Loralei Anabel Independence Lee, Leila Arabel Lee, James Tiger Lee, Jeremy Daniel Lee, and Jayden Alexander Lee. Mrs. Lee was a teacher in China where she taught Chinese for 10 years. She met her husband James in 1964 and immigrated to San Francisco in 1965. The family relocated to Georgia in 1976 to start one of the first Chinese restaurants in the Atlanta area, The Chinese Garden. She and her husband later started the Hong Kong Restaurant on Buford Highway and lastly the House of Lee Chinese Restaurant in Lithonia. She retired as a restaurateur in 1997. Viewing will be at Wages and Sons Funeral Home and Crematories located at 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy in Lawrenceville, GA 30046 on Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. Mrs. Lee will be laid to rest at Cypress Lawn Cemetery in Colma, California on Sunday, March 13, 2011.
