  1. I just learned of gay’s passing today. I am deeply saddened, for Gay was one of my closest friends for many, many years. I first met Gay at the Academy of Natural Sciences in about 1972 or 1973. We had many adventures togetherover the years. She had an inquisitive mind, and a wide variety of things interested her. When my wife, Carolyn Torrey and I were married in Ila, Georgia, she was one of the few people at the wedding, as we didn’t announce it widely and kept it quite small, Over the years, I visited Gay and Earl whenver I could make it through Georgia.. I will miss her very, very much. My condolances to Earl, Spencer and Lisa. Please know my thoughts are with you.
