Maxie Jo Lord

Maxie Jo Barlow Lord, age 86, of Dacula, GA, passed away on September 3, 2013. A memorial service will be held at Dacula United Methodist Church, 2655 Fence Road, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 7. Rev. Alex Stroud and Rev. Shirley Wright will officiate. She is survived by daughters Barbara Willis and Linda Braswell, sons Robert Lord and Rick Lord, twin sister Mary Pickens, older sister Louise Liddell, grandchildren Kevin Braswell, Amy Lord, Bobby Braswell, Tori Lord and great granddaughter Maggie Braswell. She retired from a long teaching career at Lawrenceville Elementary in the mid-80s and spent much of her retirement in Florida before returning to Gwinnett to live with her daughter Linda. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to the Literacy Project of the Beta Rho chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary educational society in which she was a member.
