William Charles Lowder Jr.

Mr. Willam Charles Lowder, Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 6, 2012. Mr. Lowder was a World War II veteran, having served in the Pacific theater as an Army Air Corp Flight Line Mechanic from 1942 to 1945. Upon returning home to Spencer, North Carolina, he worked for Southern Railway as a diesel machinist for 42 years. He was a talented craftsman, a loving father and husband, and a dedicated Christian. Mr. Lowder is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lucille, his daughter Marlyn Lowder Angelo, and his son Charles Steven Lowder, as well as 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services are 11 am Saturday August 11, 2012 at the Summersett Funeral Home Chapel, burial will follow in the Rowan Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 am until the funeral hour on Saturday.
