Marie F. (Murray) Desort, 91, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 in Lawrenceville, GA.. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Desort, her brothers, Richard J. Murray and Walter D. Murray, and her niece, Ann Steidel. She is survived by her nieces, Sue-Ann Soloway, Margaret (Maggie) Kenyon (John), Mary C. Russell (George), Patricia “Pat” Krause, Susan “Susie” Egan (John), and her nephews, Damian Murray, Richard J. Murray Jr. (Toni), John Murray (Carol), James “Jim” Murray (Isabelle), and Joseph (Joe) Murray (Kris), as well as many great and great, great nieces and nephews.

Marie was a cherished wife, sister, and aunt. She was born in Morristown, NJ in 1930. She spent her working years as a switchboard operator and later a data entry specialist for AT&T and then the Bell corporations before retiring after 42 years. She was active in the AT&T Pioneers.

Once retired, she and her husband moved from Old Bridge, NJ to Lawrenceville, GA to be closer to family there. Marie enjoyed shopping, spending time with her family, and a good spaghetti dinner followed by vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup. Marie will be dearly missed.

Funeral Mass to be held at 2pm January 15 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Lawrenceville, GA 30046.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
