Mark David White, age 58, of Lilburn, Georgia, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia. Mark was preceded in death by his father, James White. He is remembered with love by his mother, Estelle White; children, Sarah and Alex White; brother, John White; sisters Kathy White-Henry (Allen) and Linda Moser (Mark); and will be greatly missed by numerous friends and colleagues.
Mark had over 35 years of service in public health starting with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and ending with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. During his career, Mark had numerous leadership positions including Deputy Director for the National Center for Public Health Informatics.
Mark received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington. He was a certified master cave diver and enjoyed fly fishing, UNC basketball, cooking, and had a passion for mission work.
Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 6, 3:00 pm at Sunrise Baptist Church, 3000 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville, Georgia, 30045, with Dr. David Poe officiating the service. Family will receive friends at 2:30 pm.

I am so very sorry to hear of Mark’s passing. He and I worked together at CDC. May his soul rest in paradise.

Mark was my deputy when was a center director at CDC. He was a good man whose life was a testament to his faith and whose integrity unquestionable. My condolences to all who loved him and all whose life he made better.
It was sincere honor and pleasure to work with Mark. He will be missed.
