Mary Elizabeth Bassett, age 94, of Lilburn, GA passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Born on July 25, 1927 in Lithonia, GA.

Mary was one of three children. She attended and graduated from Avondale High School, attended a business college in Atlanta, and then married William Hugh Bassett of Decatur, GA in 1948. They had two children. Mary was preceded in death by a brother, Herman J. Taylor, and is survived by a sister, Ruth L. Osborne, age 99, of Suwanee, GA. Over the years, Mary led an active and happy social life at Gwinnett Christian Terrace and at Lilburn Oaks Baptist Church. Her hobbies included crocheting, ceramics, and playing the piano. She was very active in her grandchildrens’ lives over the years.

Mary’s other survivors include a daughter, Yvonne B. Bouras of Auburn, GA; son, William Hugh Stafford (spouse Louise Stafford) of Snellville, GA; and grandchildren Stephanie B. Mahan (spouse Sean Mahan) of Alpharetta; Bradley C. Bouras (spouse Rebecca Bouras) of Auburn, GA; and Mark A. Bouras of Los Angeles, CA. Great grandchildren include Marissa Mahan, Noelle Mahan and Katherine Mahan.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 2nd at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior, at Wages and Sons Funeral Home. Burial at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
