Mary Mardelle McClure, age 99, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2013. She was born and lived the early part of her life on the McClure Family farm in Forsyth County, Georgia and was the daughter of John Arthur McClure and Bertha Ann Jay McClure. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lloyd McClure, Sylva McClure, Leon McClure, sisters, Marguerite McClure Mathis and Grace McClure Walton. During World War II Mardelle worked at the Naval Ordinance Plant in Macon, Georgia. After the War she spent the next forty years employed by Enterprise Aluminum Company in Eatonton, Georgia. She was a life-long member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Gainesville, Georgia. In her younger years Mardelle was an avid gardener and was known for her green thumb. A graveside service will be held at Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville, Georgia at 2:00p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2013. The service will be officiated by her Niece, Wilna Walton Mullis. She is survived by her Nephews, Jack Pat McClure of Baxley, GA; Herb Mary McClure of Cleveland, GA; Philip Joan Mathis; Doug McClure of Gainesville; Carolyn Walton Holliday Randy of Watkinsville, GA; and Wilna Walton Mullis Marion of Oxford, GA.
