Emogene Pounds McCormack, 85, went to be with Jesus on HIS special day, December 25, 2011. She was born March 13, 1926 in Stone Mountain to parents Jack and Sadie Pounds. Upon her marriage to Robert James McCormack, they lived in Avondale Estates until his death in 1958. She then returned to Stone Mountain, residing there until her move to Madison in 1999. Beloved mother to daughter Janice McCormack Sellars, Cumming; and son Robert Herman McCormack II and wife Karen, Madison; "Gene" to grandchildren Brad Sellars and wife Jen, Suwanee; Jason Sellars, Cumming; Justin McCormack and wife Ashleigh, Madison; Megan McCormack, Lilburn; Julian Allen and wife Laura, Charleston, SC; "Genie Baby" to great-granddaughter Harper Sellars; Sister to brother Frank Pounds, Sr. and wife Hallie, Cumming; Aunt to nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her sister Ludie Pounds, Stone Mountain. A celebration of her life will be held at 4:00pm with family receiving friends at 2pm, Wednesday, Dec. 28 at Wages & Sons, Gwinnett Chapel, with Rev. Jonathan Porter officiating.
