Sarah Louise Wade McCullough of Stone Mtn, passed away Saturday April 23, 2011. Born in Stone Mtn. Georgia on August 19, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Mae Bell Walker Wade, she was also preceded in death by her husband Bill McCullough and son Ronnie Parrish. Mrs. McCullough retired from Southern Bell Telephone as an operator, a member of the Southern Bell Pioneer Club, Stone Mtn. Order of Eastern Star, Stone Mtn. Grand Mother Club, and Stone Mtn. First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She also was a driver for the 1983 Olympics. Surviving are Grandchildren: Angie Noll, Allen Parrish, Lenny Parrish, Stephanie Atkinson, and Stacey Crosby, Seven Grandchildren, step daughter Sharon Crippen, Sisters: Beverly Bailey, Pat Drozak, and Mary Wade, daughter in law Nancy Linder, six nieces and 10 nephews. Funeral Services will be 11 am Wednesday April 27, 2011 at Stone Mtn. First Baptist Chuch with Dr. Dan Parker officiating burial will follow in Melwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 til 9 pm on Tuesday April 26, 2001 at Wages and Sons Funeral Home Stone Mtn. Chapel. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
So sorry for your loss. I worked with Sarah at Southern Bell in Jonesboro for many years. She was a joy to be around, and worked very hard. May those she left behind cherish the sweet memories she left behind.
