Ellie Adams Meek

Ellie Adams Meek age 96 of Stone Mtn. passed Sunday April 1, 2012. Born in Newborn Georgia on August 21, 1915, she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Lillian Beatrice Chandler Adams. Mrs. Meek worked for the Veterans Administration at the Atlanta Army Depot in Conley 20 plus years. She was a member of the White Oak Hills Baptist Church for over 30 years, she taught primary children in Sunday School and also sang in the choir, and later a member of Mtn. Park First Baptist Church. Among many of her hobbies included traveling, Meals on Wheels which she worked at for 11 years. The one thing she was best known for was her memory, she remembered all of her grandchildren's birthdays and sent them all a birthday card every year. She is preceded in death by her son Kenneth M. Meek Jr. and daughter Gloria Garlick. Surviving are son James H. Mary Meek of Tucker, 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren, she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Services are Noon Wednesday April 4, 2012 at the Wages & Sons Stone Mtn. Chapel with James H. Meek and Daniel Garlick officiating, burial will follow at 3:30 pm at the Resthaven Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 11 am until the service hour on Wednesday. Flowers are being accepted.
