Merrill “Bubba” Estes age 89 of Stone Mountain, passed on Saturday, May 14, 2016. A longtime residence of Stone Mountain, he was a member and deacon of Indian Creek Baptist Church for many years.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Mary Holcome Estes , children: Donna Bradford of Loganville, Danny Estes of Stone Mountain, and Richard and Lisa Estes of Gainesville. Also Grandchildren: Stephen Collins, Heather and Mason Estes, Great Grandchildren: Kason and Kade Collins. Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from Wages and Sons Stone Mountain Chapel with Dr. Bill Gordon officiating, interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday at the Funeral Home. On line condolences may be expressed at www.wagesandsons.com

We were so sad to hear of Bubba’s passing. However, we rejoice to know that he is in heaven with the Lord and we will all see him again some day. We offer our condolences to the entire family.
He was a doer who never sought praise or acclaim for the many acts of service that he did quietly and very effectively.
We have been unable to travel in the last few years; but one the things that Peggy remembers and talks about is Bubba and Mary. She told me a couple of days ago that she dreamed about Bubba. We will miss him too.

I was so very blessed to have THE BEST Father-In-Law anyone could have ever asked for. I loved this man dearly, and will miss him more than words could ever express. My life and was truly enriched, just because he was a part of it.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Bubba was a special soul that brought joy to everyone he was around. That smile and laughter was contagious. May you rest in peace and keep everyone laughing in heaven.
