Milton Cunningham February 22, 1942 - October 25, 2019 of Lawrenceville, GA Son of Curtis and Violet Cunningham Born in Des Moines, Iowa Grew up in Greenwood, SC Graduated Greenwood High School 1960 Inaugurated into Greenwood High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013 Lettered 4 years in football and track Co-Captain of 1959 South Carolina State Champion team and set school records in discus and shot-put. Received several honors his senior year, including All-State, All-Southern, Shiner Bowl, and Scholastic All-American. Received a football scholarship to the University of South Carolina and played there until 1964 Milton was in the Army Reserve for 6 years and was named Number One Trainee in basic training. He worked for two years as credit and operations manager for B.F. Goodrich and 53 years as a commercial printing consultant. Survived by wife of 46 years, Sandra Limerick Cunningham, and daughter Kimberly Shea Cunningham.

  1. My condolences to Milton’s family. So sorry for your loss. I knew Milton since we were in grade school together and it was always nice to visit with him at GHS class of ’60 reunions. RIP my friend.

  2. So sorry to learn of Milton’s passing. Remembering him from high school,he was as a REALLY good guy and highly respected by many of his classmates! Always happy and fun to be around. RIP Milt!

  3. Sorry to here of Milton’s passing. We were teammates on the 1958 State Championship Football Team at Greenwood High. He was a very good player and great guy.

  4. I am saddened to hear of Milton’s passing. I was 5 years behind him at Greenwood High and he was a hero to me. I wanted to be like him, excel in football and play for the Gamecocks. He treated us younger players kindly and was always a good example. My sincere sympathy to his family and may he Rest In Peace.

  6. I can’t remember a time growing up in Greenwood when Milton wasn’t in my life. From YMCA sports to GHS Emeralds sports he was always there. A friend and mentor and most of all Milton was a true gentleman.

  8. It was such fun cheering for Milton and their State Championship Football ???? team. It was a GREAT fall season! They let me be their homecoming queen, too. ????. Such happy memories! I loved all of those guys! They were a special group of men.

    We will miss Milton at our reunion next year. He did such a wonderful job with the planning and printing all of the books for each of us.
