MARGARET I. MOSRIE
Margaret I. Mosrie, devoted wife, loving mother and caring friend passed away on August 6 . .Margaret was born on March 27, l922 to Sampson and Verlie Sizemore at Modock, West Virginia. At an early age the family moved to near by Matoaka, West Virginia where she remained through her public school and business school years. In l950 she married Richard M. Mosrie and traveled with him during his military years. After military they came to Atlanta where Richard attended Georgia Tech graduate school. After successfully completing the graduate program Richard accepted a job in Baltimore with the B & O Railroad where they lived until returning to Atlanta where they have remained.. In the late fifties Margaret was associated with Rich's Department Store where she served as a department manager. She was part of the management team that opened Rich's at Lenox Square in the early sixties. She often referred to her work with Rich's as the high light of her working experience. Although dedicated to her work at Rich's she elected to give up her position to become a stay at home mom to rear her two sons Rich and Phil. Like all thing she undertook she was fully involved with all aspects of their life and remain so throughout her life. Margaret loved nature and all creatures great and small. Her basic mission was to insure that creatures in her domain were well cared for and protected. Frequent visitors to her in town backyard included raccoons, possums, squirrels, hawks, falcons and neighborhood pets. Very dear to her was her church, St Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, where she and Richard attended since l962 and where their sons were baptized. In her church she was continuously involved with church chapters, committees, special projects and was an office volunteer for over twenty year. Most of all she cared about others and she will be truly missed by her family and all who had the good fortune to know her. She survived by Richard, her husband for 63 years, sons Rich and Phil, brother in law Bob Allen, niece Karen Dotson and husband Jerry, grand nephew Casey Dotson, sister in law Peggy Linkous and husband Malcolm, niece Tammy Hanson and husband Larry, and nephew Mark Linkous.. Her memorial service will be at St Bartholomew Episcopal Church,, 1790 La Vista Rd. at 11:00am, August 10., In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St Bartholomew's Endowment Fund or the memorial fund.
I loved and admired my aunt dearly. I have so many fond memories of her. She was a kind and loving person.
