August 16, 1924 ~ July 31, 2021

Born in: Springfield, Illinois
Resided in: Dacula, Georgia

Norma Jean Sarff of Dacula, Georgia, formerly of Springfield, Illinois, passed away Friday, July 31st. She was born in Sangamon County on August 16, 1924, the daughter of Alfred and Addie Snyder. Springfield was her home for most of her life until moving to Georgia to be near her only son in 1996.

She was an only child and grew up during the depths of the Great Depression; during her teenage and young adult years, WWII would shape her life and memories. Even after those times of trial, she emerged a happy, giving person who never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was very loving and selfless and will be missed by all that knew her. For many years, she played piano and performed in numerous recitals and events. She also taught piano lessons to untold numbers of students throughout the years.

Norma was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church in Springfield, and was active in choir, Sunday School, women’s club, and many other activities and ministries.

She was actively involved in the Amway business for over 50 years, and along with her husband, managed a large and successful organization at the Diamond level, one of the company’s highest honors of achievement. One of her greatest joys was orchestrating events and hosting guests in her home. Her colleagues were part of her family and her social circle, and those memories endured throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother that died in infancy, and her beloved husband, W.S. “Dub” Sarff.

She is survived by her son, Bill Ogden, his wife Jackie, and two granddaughters, Emily and Rebecca, all of Dacula, Georgia.

Services will be Friday, August 6 at 11:00 am at Wages & Sons, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
