March 9, 1923 ~ September 10, 2011

Born in: Oakpark, GA
Resided in: Lawrenceville, GA

Our world is a little less bright at the passing of our mom, Frances O?Connor, 88, who died September 10, 2011 with her family by her side in Duluth, GA. She was born March 9, 1923, in Oak Park, GA to Shelton and Emma Thompson. Her father was a farmer, and her mother was a homemaker. Frances graduated from Oak Park High School in May 1942, where she was valedictorian of her class. She also received a full scholarship to USC but declined so she could work to help support the family in those difficult times. This was the statement for her life; always putting others needs before her own desires. She met and married James O?Connor in 1949 and they were married 26 years. Frances loved her family and was a devoted mother and wife. She was an active member of Christian City Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, the outdoors and fishing but mostly spending time with her close friends and family?..partying!! Go Granny!! She is survived by one daughter, and two sons, Sharon Sipe, Martin O?Connor, and James O?Connor, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at Christian City Church, 1065 Walther Blvd., Lawrenceville, Georgia. Arrangements by Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, 770-277-4550. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wagesandsons.com. .
