Otho “Bud” Carroll Bonner III, 74, of Hoschton, GA, passed away, Saturday, February 08, 2014. Bud is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth; daughter, Carolyn Bonner Litke; granddaughters, Brittany Elizabeth Litke and Olivia Carol Litke; and many loving, nieces, nephews and extended family. Bud was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.
Bud was retired from Bellsouth/AT&T after 35 years of employment. He lived life to the fullest after retirement as a recreational pilot as well as spending time traveling with his wife and granddaughters. He also enjoyed cooking and looked for opportunities to get together with his friends and family to share new recipes. Bud dedicated many years of his life to the mission of the Shriners. He was also a Mason. He never met a stranger and always made you laugh.
Memorial services for Bud will be at Winder First United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation afterwards at the church reception hall. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wagesandsons.com.
Elizabeth: I am still in shock about hearing of Bud’s passing. I know how much you, Carolyn and the girls will miss him, as will many others. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.
I remember Mr. Bonner so very fondly, especially his cheerful heart and generous spirit. He loved to fly and I am so glad to have shared that with him and my son on a beautiful day,8 years ago maybe? We flew from the strip near Hoschton and he took us to another airstrip in South Carolina, where we had a pleasant lunch and a smooth ride back to Georgia. It was indeed a memorable experience for my son.
I also remember that Mr. Bonner was very proud of his granddaughters, and his lawn I believe.
I wish your family well and I know his spirit lives on.
I worked with Buddy when he first came to work for Southern Bell and he was such a great and funny person to be around. I really enjoyed knowing him during our Bell years and my prayers are for the family. Cam Mullinax
We would like to send our condolence to you and your family. I still remember my childhood days when my family
would come (from Charleston) to visit Uncle Carroll’s family. I appreciate Buddy’s talks with my mother (Lilliette) each
time she came to Atlanta. Our love & sympathy, Arthur, Naomi, & Aunt Lilliette Curry
And…..I……remember when Buddy went to Davenport, Iowa, for a brief period, hoping to study chiropractic. This was shortly before he met Elizabeth. What a FUN GUY he was ! My heart always missed a beat when in his company.
