Peggy Roberts Little passed away peacefully on November 12, 2020.

Peggy was born on June 8, 1939 in Fairfield, Alabama to Elbert and Elizabeth Roberts. After graduating from Ensley High School in Birmingham, Alabama, Peggy attended Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi, majoring in History and minoring in Religion. More importantly, while at college she met the love of her life and husband of 43 years, John Allen Little. John and Peggy were married on June 11th, 1966.

Peggy adored teaching and frequently taught Sunday school for both young children and adults. She loved music and sang in the church choir, and also led youth groups and Women of the Church programs. She was a Girl Scout Leader and coached softball for many years. While growing up, she competed in multiple sports, including archery and synchronized swimming. She grew to become an avid collector of Coca-Cola merchandise. Moreover, she cherished her children and grandchildren and dedicated her life to serving the Lord.

Peggy was Director of Christian Education at First Presbyterian in Columbus, Mississippi, before transitioning to Palmer House Orphanage, also in Columbus. She retired in 2014 from her role as Assistant to the Stated Clerk of the Presbyterian Church of America in Lawrenceville, GA.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Reverend John Allen Little, as well as her parents Elbert and Elizabeth Roberts, sibling “Buddy” Elbert Roberts, Jr., and grandchildren TJ Shivers and Mattie Grace Shivers.

She is survived by her children, Libby Shivers, Christy MacMillan (Chris), John Allen Little, Jr. (Felicia); grandchildren Casey Sullivan (Walter), Kristen and John Ronald Shivers, Ashley Carlson (Justin), Bryant MacMillan (Caroline), and Gracie Little; great-grandchildren Braxton, Malachi and Isaiah Sullivan, as well as Aaron and Noah Carlson; sibling Joel Roberts (Diane); and sister in-law, Jenny Roberts.

Pallbearers will be Allen Little, Jr., Chris MacMillan, Bryant MacMillan, and Ben Basch.

Visitation will be from 10 AM – 12 PM at Wages and Sons in Lawrenceville, GA. Graveside services will follow at 2 PM at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta, GA.

The family would like to express gratitude to the kind and thoughtful staff of Overlook at Cedarcrest for providing compassionate care and support and making her a part of their family.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
