William Belton Pritchett, Jr. passed at his residence in Lawrenceville, Georgia, on Wednesday, November 21st, 2012 at age 90. 'Bill' as he was called by his many friends was a longtime resident of Smokerise in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He was also well known in the Tucker area, as he and his wife, Anne, were very active in the community. Bill was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1922 and lived in Selma for most of his youth. He went into the Army and served in World War II in the 10th Mountain Division, where he was stationed in Italy. He participated in active combat and accomplished many heroic deeds. When he returned home, he attended the University of Alabama, where he met and married Anne Rose Daidone Pritchett, who preceded him in death in 1982. Bill and Anne went on to have three children and in 1952, re-located from Alabama to Georgia. He was a salesman and then became southeastern sales manager for Aeroquip Corporation, where he worked till his retirement in 1983. Bill was beloved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his children, Bill Pritchett III of Loganville, Ga., his daughter, Elaine Birchfield and her husband, David, of Robbinsville, NC, and other son, Dr. Douglas Pritchett and his wife, Dr. Rildia Pritchett of Cary, NC. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren, Adam Jennings, of Gainesville, Ga., Tony Pritchett and his wife, Lori, of Dacula, Ga. And Anne Marie DuToit and her husband, Nathaniel, of Atlanta, Ga., and Brian and Natalie Pritchett of Cary, NC, and great-grandchildren, Jaden Welchel of Atlanta, Ga., Lillie Pritchett of Dacula, Ga. and Rhys DuToit of Atlanta, Ga.. The services will be held on Sunday, Nov.25th at Elmwood Chapel of Johns-Ridout's Funeral Home in Birmingham, Alabama, with visitation from 1:00 pm till 2:00 pm central time and graveside services immediately following in the Elmwood Cemetery
