Curtis M. Reid, age 87, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on January 13, 2012. He was a Marine Corps veteran and served during World War II. He was a graduate of Emory University and was retired from the Federal Government. Mr. Reid was born in Meriwether County, GA on December 1, 1924. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cullen M. Reid, of Meriwether County and by sisters, Sue Rogers and Geneva Norman. Curtis is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marie Ozbirn Reid, Lawrenceville; daughter: Rebecca Millwood, Dacula; daughter and son-in law, Deborah and Leon Becker, Warner Robins; grandsons, Stephen Millwood, Brett Becker, and David Becker. He is also survived by sister, Ruth Heldreth, High Point NC; brothers Cary Reid, Ellijay, GA and Franklin Reid, Jacksonville FL; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and until 4:30 PM in the church Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Curtis Reid's memory to The Gibson Wing Building Fund at Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church, 395 W. Crogan St, Lawrenceville GA 30046.
