  2. The world has lost a great man and heaven has received a diciple and angel. Gordan married my husband and I 36 years ago and was my pastor for many years. Gordan help create many memories for many families. My prayers are with the family.

  3. Gordon Pittard was our family’s pastor for many years. I have precious memories of that time in my life. God bless you Pittard family, you are in our prayers.

  4. Gordon Pittard married me and Keith in January 1968. We were married at Corinth Baptist Church on Rockbridge Road. Gordon also married Keith’s two sisters and was a spiritual advisor for the Frost family for over 50 years. Lighthouse (Memorial Drive) Baptist Church in Stone Mountain was where we first met Gordon and Louise. He was a good man.

  5. Louise, Dianne, Denise, and Paul, Sorry to learn of passing of Brother Gordon. I know it is always hard on any family to lose a loved one. When you have a member of your family and especially your immediate family it is very hard to give them up. We know that your dad was a Christian pastor for so many years stood over many who had passed to speak at their funeral, It is often hard to find just the right words to say trying to bring comfort and sympathy to a family at a time of great loss. Brother Gordon was an excellent pastor that loved and cared for his family, friends, and congregation with a deep Christian heart. He loved and prayed for them all. We are blessed to know he is now in Heaven with our Lord Jesus and we too will join him again when this life on earth has passed. Knowing Jesus as our Lord and Savior is what he preached as the way to salvation.. We all were blessed to have him as our pastor and friend for so many years. May the Lord comfort Louise and all of the Pittard family is my prayer. We will once again be with brother Gordon in Heaven as we are all united again some day when God calls us home. May the Lord richly bless the Pittard family and take care of their needs. Thank you God for allowing us to be a friend with brother Gordon and all of his wonderful family. The days at Corinth Baptist Church were some of our best. Thank you Jesus for your many blessings allowing us to know this wonderful man and his family. We all were blessed in so many ways.

  6. Our hearts are breaking for the entire Pittard family, which has been like an extension of our own family. Dianne has been my best friend/sister for 40+ years, and my son, Brett, considers Dianne as an aunt, and Rev. and Mrs. Pittard as surrogate grandparents. Everyone in the Pittard family has always opened their hearts and love to us. While we know Rev. Pittard is in his eternal home with the Lord, it is difficult for loved ones left behind on this earth. I pray that all of you will have some comfort in knowing you will be with him again when we are called to God’s glorious home.
Praying for the peace and comfort that only God can give. Love to each of you.

  7. I was so sorry to hear about Bro.Gordon’s passing, although as we all know, and it no doubt has already been said many times, he is in a much better place now and having a much better time. Bro. I got saved at 10 yrs of age under Bro Tolbert Moore’s preaching and was baptised a year later by Bro Gordon. He has always been one of my hero’s and will continue to be. My thoughts and prayers are with the Pittard family during this time. Wesley Abernathy–Lula,Ga.

  18. So sorry to hear of this great man passing, he was my pastor at County Line Baptist along with his father Bro Herman Pittard all so a great man of god , when we went to County Line in those days Bro Gordon and Sister Louise would come home with us on sunday and my mother would have lunch for them and Dianne ,my family loves the Pittard’s we are from Redan Ga, we went to Memorial Light House , Shady Grove, Corinth, and Glen Haven to hear them preach, wonderful memories, I’m sorry I can’t come to the service I live in Jacksonville Fl , we will always pray for you and the family, Billy Bennett, some one who remembers what a wonderful person Bro. 19. Louise, Dianne, Denise, Paul and family, I want you all to know how very sorry I was to hear of Brother Pittard passing. I will always treasure the many times I was blessed by hearing him preach. The times you came home with us to eat Sundy lunch. The times I spent the night with Paul at your house. The times Denise spent the night with Glenda at our house. The many times we had all day service and lunch outside on the large granite tables. My best memories are as a youth at Corinth. We was a very close congregation. Brother Paul baptized me after being saved at our revival. I can go on and on but I will save you from my babbling. What a man of God he was. Please know that I love you all very much and will not be able to attend the visitation or services for him. I live in Columbia, SC and my youngest son is graduating with a Master’s degree this weekend but if you ever need me for anything just let me know. My prayers are with you all during this most difficult time. I pray for God to grant you peace and that it will get better as the days go by. May God continue to bless each one of you.

  20. Even though your hearts are heavy, we can rejoice to know that he has attained what he has preached about for many, many years, seeing Jesus face to face! What a day that was for him! No more sorrow, no more pain! He has been such a blessing to so many people. Pastor, friend, neighbor, he was a perfect example of what each of those should be. He was the most compassionate, humble, forgiving Pastor, ever! He certainly can’t be replaced because he was a ONE OF A KIND Man of God!
He was our Pastor at Corinth and Memorial Lighthouse. He was a great influence in the lives of our children and was never too busy to talk with them. He led Bryan to the Lord and performed the marriage ceremony for Nancy. I truly believe he could not have been the man he was had it not been for Louise who stood by and supported him in the ministry. Him being the perfect example for Pastors, Louise was a perfect example of a Pastor’s wife. She either loved every one or she was a really good actress. We love them both so much. Diane, Denise and Paul are pretty special, too, as all who know them can attest to. We love you children, too. May God’s love and comfort sustain you until you meet him in our Eternal Home.

  21. Dianne, Tony, & Josh, we are so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Pittard. He was a sweet man, with a kind and gentle spirit, and that little twinkle in his eye was so endearing. You and all of your family, especially Mrs. Pittard have our deepest sympathy.

  22. We love you Louise and are praying for you at this time. May God be with your whole family.

  24. We are so sorry to hear of Pastor Gordon’s passing. We know your hearts are heavy but we also know you are comforted by the Grace of God in knowing that Pastor Pittard is waling hand in hand with Jesus. He lived his testimony and was loved by all who knew him. He was a Godly man with much influence in this world. He lived the example we all wish we could be. God Bless you all and May God continue to give you comfort and peace. Praying for you all.
    Our deepest sympathy:
    Margaret Landress and Sheila Landress

  25. I have so many fond memories of Reverand Gordon and times spent at Corinth Baptist Church. He baptized me and was a role model for all of us young ones growing up . My heart goes out to each of you in the loss of this great man. He lived what he preached. I can still see him and hear his voice from the pulpit. How blessed I am to have had the opportunity to share a portion of my journey with him. My most sincere condolences…..our earth has lost one of it’s finest!

  26. My deepest sympathies to the Pittard family. Rev Pittard was one of the kindest most caring people I have ever had the honor to know. He always had a smile and a hand shake for everyone. I have known him and Louise since I was a little girl. He was my pastor at Corinth Baptist Church. He was my favorite. He practiced what he preached and the world has lost a Godly man. Louise and Family, my heart goes out to you. How blessed I am to have known all of you. God Bless you and your family.

  27. We were blessed to have such a wonderful Godly pastor and friend. We were members and work with him at Corinth Baptist Church for several years of which we enjoy so very much. It was a joy and we will miss him. We love all the family and love Louise and the children so very much. He will be missed by us and many, many people. May God comfort and give you peace.

  28. We feel very fortunate that God placed Gordon Pittard into our lives. He shared the gospel with such love and compassion. He spoke at my Dad’s funeral as well as both Barry’s parents funeral. His funeral was such a celebration of all that God has done in his life. He will be missed by so many people. May God give his family comfort.

  29. Dear Louise, Diane, Denise and Paul. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You and Gordon have been such an influence on my life.
Mother and Daddy double dated with you and Gordon, so I have known you all my life. I attended Memorial Baptist Church and was saved under Gordon’s preaching at an old fashioned tent revival.
Gordon married Hugh and me in 1968 and we are still together happily.
Due to my loss of my dad two years ago, I have a small idea of what you are going through and know you will miss him greatly. He was a great one of a kind godly man.
We were not able to attend the service, but please know my thoughts and prayers are with you every minute. I love you all.
    Phyllis

  30. Dianne, Tony & Josh, Please know you and you family are in our thoughts and prayers. Gordon was such a sweet man. He always had a smile on his face. I feel honored to have known him. Peace be with you. Love, Denise & Richard

  32. We are so sorry for your loss. We didn’t find out until too late to attend the service. He was such a godly man and served others for so many years. His loss will be great in the community ad his family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

  33. Rev. Pittard had a huge influence on my family through his preaching and faithful walk with the Lord, consistently modeling what a Christian should be while “accurately dividing the Word of truth.” All of us loved him very much and will miss him, though we’ve all moved away now and seldom had contact with him. He preached my 12-year-old brother Billy’s funeral in 1962, my father’s funeral after his untimely death at age 50 in 1972, and my mother’s funeral in 2007, which was the last time I saw him. May the Lord have already received Rev. Gordon into his eternal home, and I’m certain He told him, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” I do pray for the Holy Spirit to provide much comfort for the family left behind.

  34. My parents new Gordon and Louise very well having lived in a grown up around Stone Mountain their whole lives. I remember being in the choir at Memorial lighthouse Baptist Church and listening to him preach. He baptized me there when I was 16.. He also married me and my husband. Gordon was one of the most kind and godlly men that I knew.
