Richard “Dick” Bowman Smith passed away in his home on Friday, May 3, 2019. Dick was born June 2, 1943 in Norfolk, Virginia to James and Millie Smith. A graduate of Princess Anne High School, he spent much of his early career in sales in the health and beauty industry, owned his own recruiting business, and, before retiring, was Vice President of Ciara Group Dick was a lifelong Braves fan who rarely missed watching or listening to a game. He enjoyed time with his grandchildren -- attending plays, sporting events, and birthday parties. He was a longtime, active member of First Baptist Church of Snellville; where he served as a Sunday school teacher and on visitation teams. In more recent years, he was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Dick leaves behind his three daughters and their families; Cindy and Paul Matza (Alex, Sawyer, Rick), Stacy Schwartz (Sarah and Thomas), and Ashley and Scott Baker (Noah, Isaac, Maggie). He is also survived by his sister Gwen Smith. The family will hold a visitation at 10:00 am on Monday May 13, 2019 at Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, Georgia with a memorial service following at 11:00 am. Donations may be made in his memory to the Atlanta Braves Foundation.
