Richard William Alexander, age 78, of Dahlonega, GA, died on January 13, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carole, three children, Tracy, Kristina, and Richard, five grandchildren and two sisters. Born to Marjorie and William L. Alexander, Jr., in Toledo, OH, he and Carole were married in 1960. Dick was an avid golfer and played competitively at the University of Michigan. He was club champion at Walnut Hills in Michigan and senior club champion at Indian Hills Country Country Club in Marietta where the family resided for over thirty years. He continued to golf after moving to Dahlonega in 2007, was a marshal for the Atlanta Classic Golf Tournament and rated courses for the Georgia State Golf Association. He also played ALTA doubles making it to the state tournament. Dick graduated from University of Michigan with an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's degree in Business Administration. He spent his career at IBM winning many sales awards and becoming a Consulting Marketing Representative. His accounts included Coca-cola International and Lockheed Martin. Dick also worked for Beta Systems, Metaphor and KMA, as well as having his own photography business. The family requests that remembrances be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
