With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Robert Charles Peabody. Robert, 91, transitioned from this life on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at Northside Gwinnett Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love and service that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
Born on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1932, in Elgin, Illinois, Robert’s life journey was marked by resilience, determination, and unwavering dedication to his family and country. A proud veteran, he served honorably in the United States Army before embarking on a distinguished career as the sole proprietor of CIM Publications, where his entrepreneurial spirit and visionary leadership spanned over three and a half decades.
In 2022, Robert made Lawrenceville, Georgia, his cherished home, bringing his warmth and wisdom to enrich the lives of those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by his three adoring sons: Scott of Jerseyville, Illinois; Jay (Mary) of Barrington, Illinois; and Tim (Jill) of Lawrenceville, Georgia. His memory will also be cherished by his three grandchildren, Corey (Monica) Peabody, Abby (C.J.) Cobb, and Conner Peabody, as well as his great-grandchild, Nolan Cobb III.
Robert is reunited in eternal peace with his beloved wife, Donna M. Peabody, who preceded him in death in 2013, and his parents, John and Marion (nee Winrott) Peabody, along with seven siblings. While we grieve his loss deeply, we find solace in knowing that he is at peace and reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him.
In accordance with his wishes, the family will hold a private mourning ceremony to honor Robert’s memory. For those who wish to offer condolences or share memories, Wages and Sons Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, GA, will be assisting the family during this time of remembrance.
So sorry ☹️
