It is with Extreme Sorrow that the Family announces that Robert David “Bob” Rickman, age 64, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, has passed away of Natural Causes on April 4th, 2024. Bob was born on April 20th, 1959, in Atlanta, Georgia and where He was a Graduate of Chamblee High School, Class of 1977. Bob was a United States Navy Veteran where he served as a Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Petty Officer for the US Marine Corps, and he dedicated 4 years of Active Duty and another 2 years of Reserve Duty with the US Navy, Serving His Country With Honor. After his Military Service, He pursued a career as a Graduate of DeKalb College School of Nursing, Georgia State University, Class of 1988 as a Registered Nurse, embodying the values of compassion and dedication in his work.
Bob will be remembered as a Humanitarian, always putting others first. His kindness and caring nature extended beyond his profession, touching the lives of all who knew him. Bob was the Youngest Son of John and Sara Rickman Sr. of Atlanta, GA and he is survived by his brothers, John Wm. Rickman, Jr. of Sugar Hill, GA and Matthew R. Rickman of Roswell, GA. He was a Loving Father to Jennifer R. Wright of Wilmington, NC. and Stan Rickman of Flowery Branch, GA. and a Grandfather to Five Grandchildren and Godfather to Tiffany “Abbie” Wright of Hazel Green, AL.
Bob’s commitment to serving others will be cherished by those who were fortunate to know him. Military Honors will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery on Monday, April 22nd, 2024 at 10am with a Pre-service Memorial Gathering at the Cemetery starting at 9am. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital in Bob’s name, a cause that was close to Bob’s heart.
May his legacy of Selflessness and Compassion continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps.
