Rod C. Roque, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, at the age of 75 in Grayson, GA. Born on February 4, 1949, in the Philippines, Rod lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep devotion to his family.
Rod graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Centro Escolar University, embarking on a remarkable career as a medical technologist that spanned over four decades, from 1973 to 2015.
A devout Catholic, Rod’s faith was a guiding force in his life. He was known as a man of honor, kindness, and humor—a “good guy” whom everyone loved to talk to. His quick wit and ability to make people laugh brightened every room he entered.
Rod had a passion for collecting guns, riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and admiring cars. He also had a talent for fixing things around the house, always ready to lend a hand and solve problems.
Above all, Rod was a devoted family man who always put his loved ones first. As the Patriarch of the family, he cherished opportunities to bring everyone together. Whether hosting holiday parties, reunions, or casual gatherings, Rod’s love for his family and friends was evident in the warmth and hospitality he shared.
Rod is preceded in death by his parents, Orlando and Teresita Roque, his brother Alan Roque, and his son Jay Roque.
He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine Roque; his daughter, Joy Llena, and son-in-law, Myron Llena; his cherished grandchildren, Landon Roque, Asia Llena, and Shaylin Llena; his brother, Orlando “Jun” Roque, and sister-in-law, Kath Roque; and his sister, Tess Scarbro, and brother-in-law, Mike Scarbro. Rod will also be fondly remembered by extended family and countless friends.
A memorial mass to celebrate Rod’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at St. Marguerite d’Youville Catholic Church in Lawrenceville, GA.
Rod C. Roque will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and the love he poured into every aspect of his life. His legacy of family, faith, and togetherness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
