Ruth Ann (Sissy) Weeks Routh of Lawrenceville passed away in her home on November 8, 2022. She was born to Alice Hambright and John Paul Weeks, Sr. on December 5, 1960. A lifelong resident of Lawrenceville, Sissy graduated from Central Gwinnett High School in 1978 and remained a loyal supporter of the Black Knights her entire life. After attending Young Harris College and The University of South Alabama, Sissy met the love of her life, Charles Nathan Routh. They married and resided in Lawrenceville while raising their children, Christopher and Emily, and running small businesses in the community.
Sissy’s love for family, friends and food were the cornerstones of her life, along with her church family at Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church. She never showed up to an event without a delicious baked good and a smile. She enjoyed traveling with her dear friends from college, from trips to the lake and mountains and capping off their 60th birthdays with a trip down Route 66. Later in her life, her joy was centered among her grandchildren who she spoke of to anyone she met.
Sissy is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 36 years, Charlie. She is survived by her siblings, Dana Cottingame of Dallas, TX, Paula (David) Barnett of Austin, TX, John (Ann) Weeks, Jr. of Statham, GA and Lou Sams of Tallahassee, FL, her children, Christopher (Emily) Routh of Jackson, MS and Emily (Ryann) Diaz of Dacula, GA, along with her grandsons Johnathan Diaz and John Routh and her many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sissy’s memory may be made to Young Harris College, Friends of the Arts, in memory of Charlie and Sissy Routh, at www.yhc.edu/giving/give-now”
