Joseph Edward Sieracki, age 84, of Stone Mountain, died Sunday, March 11th, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Lee Dumas Sieracki. Survivors include his daughters, Barbara Sieracki Sumerau and husband, Russ, Stone Mountain; Deborah Sieracki Parker and husband, Steve, Winder; granddaughter, Keri Sumerau Murphy and husband, Michael, Liberty, S.C.; grandsons Michael Parker and wife, Holly, Buford; Joe Parker, Murfreesboro, Tn.; great-grandsons Christopher Parker, Oshkosh, Neb.; Michael Parker, Murfreesboro, Tn.; sisters, Terry McLean, Bayonne, N.J.; Barbara Cassidy, Bay Shore, N.Y. Mr. Sieracki was born in Bayonne, New Jersey. He was always involved with sports growing up & in his career pursuits. He was a World War II veteran, serving in
Germany. Joe met his future wife in Germany in 1946 & they were married in Germany in 1947. They, including their first daughter, came home from Germany in 1948. Joe worked with the City of Atlanta from 1950-
1955. Joe helped form Metropolitan Basketball Officials Association MBOA while working at City of Atlanta. Joe worked at Fort McPherson as Sports Director. Then as Morale Support Activities Director for Fort McPherson, Fort Gilliam & Fort Buchanan Puerto Rico. While working at Fort McPherson he formed Peach State Basketball Officials Association & was the 1 st President of the organization. He was also a member of Ga. Basketball Officials Association for 40 years. Joe retired from Fort McPherson, Federal Government Defense Dept., in April 1983. Funeral
services will be held 11:30 WEDNESDAY MARCH 14, 2012 at Wages &
Sons Stone Mountain Chapel. Interment will follow at 2 PM at
Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers please donate to American Cancer Society.
