September 17, 1953 ~ November 21, 2021

Born in: Phoenix, Arizona
Resided in: Gainesville, Georgia

Stanley Keith Peachey, age 68 of Gainesville, GA passed away suddenly Sunday November 21, 2021.

Stan was born in 1953 to John and Margaret of Phoenix, AZ. He graduated from Camelback High School in 1971. He was an outstanding athlete, but particularly excelled at baseball, a talent which earned him a scholarship to Phoenix College. He attained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Puget Sound in 1975 and his Master of Divinity degree from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary in 1980. Stan became an ordained minister and led 2 different churches in Arizona until 1990. Afterward, he worked for several distribution companies, most recently US Food Service, in various roles, including driver and dispatcher until his wife made him retire early in 2019.
Stan was loved by everyone who met him, and he greeted all with the same welcoming smile. He could always be found in his “workshop” fixing, building, tinkering, or painting the latest DIY project to improve their home(s). He always put his all into everything he did and had a knack for doing things by-the-book. Maybe a little too by-the-book at times as his family often got frustrated at his excessive perfectionism. More than anything, he enjoyed the company of his family – caring for his mother, teaching life lessons to his sons, playing with his grandson, and traveling with his wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Margaret Peachey. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Elaine, his brother Paul, and his 2 sons Jonathan and Matthew.

  1. Elaine and boys, we have been friends for over 40 years and tried to celebrate our same month anniversary at a Mexican restaurant. We had a great time last summer , seeing you again. We will see you next summer, if you get to AZ call. Our prayers and love are with you.

  2. Elaine–We have fond memories of Stan and you during your time at Gateway Baptist in Portland, Oregon. We remember Stan as a seminary student who brought boxes of grapefruit home from Arizona at Christmas break. He spent many Sundays at our dinner table. He never turned down a meal. Stan had a wonderful smile and gentle spirit. Prayers for you and your boys during this time of grief.

  9. CandleImageMrs. Peachey, I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Stan and I was co-workers. I have never met such a nicer person in
my life. Mr. Stan just loved his family. He was always speaking so highly of you and your 2 sons and when his grandson was born. He could not wait to show him off. I had never seen such A proud Granddad. God made A good one when he made Mr. Stan. I am praying for you and the family.

  10. Mrs. Peachey, my heart goes out to you and your family as I know this was very hard for you guys. Stan your husband was such a great individual and anyone who knew him understands. I met Stan over 16 years ago when I started working with US Foods, he was the person who was assigned to train me in routing. Let me tell you Stan was such a very intelligent individual and was so precise in what he did no matter what it was. I learned so much from him and I appreciated because I learned a lot from him which helped me individually by helping me get knowledge and using this to my advantage. I will always remember Stan having the love for baseball and other sports as well. We would have such a great time and had great conversations working together for years. Unfortunately I haven’t spoke to him since he retired. I remember he was so happy to retire and I told him he deserved it and to enjoy life and live it to his fullest. I was very sad to hear the news of his passing. Stan rest easy my friend to one of the greatest individuals I have ever met. I will never forget you Stan!
    Love your friend always,
    Gabriel Hernandez.

  11. I am so deeply saddened to learn today that Stan passed away last fall. My first memory of Stan was during Senior League All-Stars where he was the star shortstop on a neighboring Senior League All-Star team. It wasn’t friendship at that time because we were all trying to beat our opponents and there was probably some jealousy on our team because of how good he was. Then, we players from neighboring Little Leagues came into Camelback High School where we became teammates for 4 years starting as freshman. It was there that I, and the rest of my Madison 2 teammates, got to know Stan. He was still a phenomenal baseball player but an even better all-around person. He was always so kind and friendly to everyone and always had a smile on his face. I will always remember Stan as the “slick fielding” shortstop and the wonderful man that he was. I want to offer my deepest condolences to your entire family.

    • Thank you for sharing your memories. He thought highly of you all. He always said that you saved a lot of his throws.

  12. I knew Stan from Monte Vista Elementary school in Phoenix and we also graduated to Camelback high school in Phoenix Arizona…. As long as I can remember he was always a gentleman and had a gentle heart, he was up right and very honorable and everything he did either scholastically or an athletics…. He was trustworthy and compassionate as the young man that I knew… and because of what Jesus Christ did for us as we excepted him as our savior I know I’ll see Stan again in heaven! God bless the family!
