Sue A. Meadows, age 82, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014 surrounded by her family after a 2 month illness. Sue was born in Jackson County to Thedford and Varie Allen. She was one of six children. Sue retired from the Norcross Police Department and loved her work and her many friends there. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family that loved her so and to go shopping. Anyone who met Sue would immediately learn of the love she had for her husband, children, siblings, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Jim Meadows; sister, Frances Hutchins; and brothers, Leroy Allen and Donald Allen. She is survived by her 4 children, JoAnn Shelton (Don), Pam Eller (James), Susie Meadows (Troy Billman), and Jimmy Meadows (Jackie). Sue had 8 loving grandchildren: Lane Watson, Donny Shelton, Kelli Jo Hulsey, Jill Harwood, Chris Shafer, Kevin Shafer, Abby Shafer, and Stephen Meadows. She also had 5 great grandchildren. Sue is also survived by her sister, Gloria (Priss) Clark, and brother, Billy Allen (Bee); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ken and Diana Meadows, Josephine Allen, Virginia Allen, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memory of Sue, to the Georgia Breast Cancer Coalition Fund, 8014 Cumming Hwy., Suite 403-318, Canton, GA 30115, 404-633-5499 or the ALS Association-Georgia Chapter, 1955 Cliff Valley Way, Suite 116, Atlanta, GA 30329, 404-636-9909. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 pm, Wednesday, August 6, at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA 30046, 770-277-4550.
