Ted Chesley Jackson, beloved father, son, granddaddy, brother, and friend, passed away on July 15, 2024, at the age of 56. Ted was born on September 11, 1967, in Decatur, GA, to Tonya Gay Jackson and the late Winfred Eugene Jackson.
Ted graduated from Central Gwinnett High School and went on to become a dedicated member of the community. He was known for being the best Granddaddy ever, his passion for Georgia Bulldog football, and he cherished spending time outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, camping, tinkering, and other various water sports. Ted’s career as a salesman at Ernst Concrete spanned many years, where he made a lasting impact on colleagues, customers and friends through his hard work and commitment.
A man of faith, Ted’s Christian values guided his life. He was described as fiercely protective, loving, driven, hardworking, and caring, traits that endeared him to all who knew him.
Ted was preceded in death by his father, Winfred Eugene Jackson. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in his surviving family: his daughter Victoria “Scoot” Goodyear; son-in-law Timothy Goodyear; granddaughters Lily, Kate, and Charlee Goodyear. He is also survived by his mother, Tonya Gay Jackson; brother Perry Jackson (Leisa), sister Nancy Jackson, and brothers Tim Compton (Carol), Terry Jackson (Maria), and Donny Jackson (Heather). Ted will be remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

My sincere condolences to the Jackson family. I have such fond memories of working with Ted (as many do) via Ernst Concrete. He made everyone feel like a good friend, not just a customer. Definitely one of the nicest men I’ve known. May all the good memories of him sustain you during this difficult time.
I’ll miss going back and forth with Ted about Ga Football vs. Tenn Football. I had the pleasure of working with Ted for many years at Ernst and will miss him and our friendly College Football Rivalry deeply. My deepest condolences to all his friends and family. We’ll see again someday brother.
We are missing you so much Ted, may you be blessed in Heaven now, We Love you always !
Our family had the privilege of counting Ted as a dear friend, and our encounters with him during camping trips were always joyful. We shared many laughs and conversations, and he always expressed his love for his family, particularly his daughter and his precious grandchildren. He also shared many stories about his mama. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to all those who held Ted dear, and we ask that God’s encompassing peace be with them during this challenging time.
To the Jackson family,
Praying that God gives you the comfort and strength you need. Ted had such a big heart for people and will be missed by all of us.

Just Heard this tragic and sad news. I grew up playing baseball with his brother Perry, and was always fun to Ted around us. I JUST saw him at Kroger in Loganville about a month ago, and we were laughing over old time. Prayers’ going out to family. Hoping for Peace in your hearts.
We just now found out, and are so saddened by the news. My husband and I became good friends in a short period of time. He was a good man and a good friend. Our prayers and condolences to his family.

I just found out about his passing online. I met Ted a little over 6 years ago at the car wash. Everyone here liked him a lot. Ted and I would talk about almost everything you can think of. He was more than a customer, he was an amazing friend who will be deeply missed. My deepest sympathy to the family.
