Charles Noble Thomas, Jr., 72, of Stone Mountain, Georgia born December 15, 1940, passed away on January 24, 2013; preceded in death by his parents Charles Noble Thomas, Sr. & Emily Thomas, and brother James Thomas. Survived by his wife of 50 years Kitty Marie Marlowe Thomas, brother Tommy Linda Thomas, sister Ann Alan Schiebe, daughter Kathy Ford & husband Alan, son Mike Thomas & wife Sandi, grandchildren Claire Thomas Tidwell & husband Sam, Melissa, Jay, and Cole Thomas, and Glenn Ford, and mother-in-law Kay Marlowe. Mr. Thomas had retired from the Stone Mountain Post Office after 40 years of service. A visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 27th, 2:00-4:00pm, at Wages & Sons Funeral Home in Stone Mountain. In lieu of flowers send donations to The American Cancer Society in memory of Charles Thomas and in honor of Claire Thomas Tidwell.

  5. Charles is a flame that God created to light spirited joy in the lives of a countless many. His life will echo into eternity fueling laughter, love, and wisdom. In the time that I’ve known him, he demonstrated that a single flame can be used to generate the light and warmth of the sun. All it takes is sharing that light with the rest of the world.

    Mr. Thomas we love you and we are all so very blessed to have been in your presence.

  7. my condolences to Kitty, Mike and Kathy. I will never forget Charlie and the times at Pine Lake Baptist Church and the time he showed me how to water ski. He was so good at it he would ski on a piece of round plywood good times, he will be missed

  8. I have such fond, funny memories of Pop..he is such a man of joy and he enjoyed spreading it where ever he would go. I am so sorry for your loss and will be praying for all of you.

  13. Charles is a favorite person of mine. He always was playing a joke and was so much fun. Kitty, I am sorry for your loss. The world was a better place when “Charlie” was here. He will be missed at our next reunion, however
    I am sure he is heaven, playing jokes on all the Angels. Rest in peace Charlie!

  14. Kitty and family-my condolences to you all. I worked as a rural carrier beside Charles for many years at Stone Mountain. We had some really good times. He loved all of you so very much and talked about you all the time. I felt like I knew each of you. Looks like the family has grown since I last saw him. Always remember the good times. That’s what he would have wanted. Praying for Peace and Comfort for each of you.

  16. I’m so saddened to hear the passing of Charles. To remember Charles is remembering a man full of life and fun. He shared his concern for others in a heartful way. I worked with Charles at the USPS and was his substitute carrier for many years. He was a hard dedicated worker and his fun character made work seem less stressful with his sarcasm. One of his sayings I still use today,”Don’t worry about the mule…just load the wagon”. I will miss him very much. Kitty,I’m so sorry for your loss. You will have your blessings of family, friends, and prayers to get you through.

  23. Aunt Kitty and family, I’m sorry I can’t be there with you all. I would like you to know the first thing that came to mind was the “laughing” song! And of course the creek, the monkey brains, the bee hives, the motorcycle rides, the games in the basement, and so much more. I love you all and may God give you the peace that passes all understanding.

  25. Charles will be missed. He was always a funny guy and made me laugh. I appreciate all the times you opened your house up to the family for gatherings and remember how much fun they were.
