Ruth Anne Tino

Ruthanne Wicka Tino, age 68, died December 20, 2010 in hospice care following a long illness. Born in Detroit, Michigan Oct. 15, 1942, Ruthanne graduated from Southfield High School in 1960 and immediately began her career as an Administrative Assistant/Executive Secretary. In 1974 she moved with her family to Atlanta where she applied her keen ability to organize and lead with a number of major companies. In 1990 her career options took a creative turn when she appeared on national TV with "Regis and Kathy Lee", and was selected to represent Block Drugs' Polygrip in commercials and on publicity tours. She continued her career in modeling until health issues forced her to retire. "She had a captivating smile and bubbly personality. She was very photogenic", added Dale, her husband of 47 years. Ruthanne was a long time member of Campus Church of Christ. Ruthanne was predeceased by her father and mother Theodore and EvelynWicka, originally of Southfield, Michigan. She is survived by her husband Dale of Norcross, Ga,; son Brad and wife Sonya of Watkinsville, Ga; daughter Amy and husband Ken Knight of Grayson, Ga; Grandchildren Michelle, Kerri, Nathan, Megan, Kevin, Sarah, and Emily; sisters Mary Mac and her husband Jack Rush of Buford, GA and Lynne and her husband Edward O'Brien of Marietta, GA; brother Thomas Bud Wicka and his wife Yvonne of Covington, GA; and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces. Ruthanne Tino was diagnosed with Amyloidosis a rare condition in which protein builds up in vital organs in 2005. Because of other health issues radical treatment was not an option, and she died of kidney failure due to the amyloid buildup. Her remains were cremated. The family will receive visitors on Thursday January 6 at Campus Church of Christ, 1525 Indian Trail Road, Norcross, GA. 30093 from 6:00 to 7:00pm. A Memorial service will follow at 7:00pm.
