Raymond Edward Walls, 82, of Snellville GA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 3, 2011 after a long illness. Raymond was graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois in 1954. He served as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. A sales representative in the welding field, he later owned his own company selling welding supplies and designing and manufacturing heavy welding equipment. Married to the former Lynne Setty in Harvey, IL, they made their home in West Allis, WI until moving to Atlanta, GA in 1971. He taught Sunday School in the College & Career Department at Clarkston Baptist Church, Clarkston, GA where he served as a Deacon. After retirement in 1995, Ray and Lynne moved to Lake Hartwell, GA, where they were members of Sardis Baptist Church. He taught an adult Sunday School class and enjoyed going on mission trips. He moved to Snellville, GA in 2003 and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Snellville, GA and the Berean Sunday School class. He loved God, studying the Bible, baseball, golf and his family and was known for his gentle spirit, beautiful rose garden and a dry sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynne, and two children: daughter, Debra Hale Spaulding and son-in-law Michael Spaulding of Lawrenceville, GA; son, Todd Raymond Walls of Lilburn, GA; grandchildren: Katherine Grace Hale, Alexandra Nicole Walls, Katherine Elizabeth Walls and Jackson Edward Walls; sisters, Frances Schwartz and brother-in-law Louis Schwartz of Memphis, TN and Charladine Bean of Ocala, FL; brothers-in-law Richard Setty and wife Gloria of Kalamazoo, MI and James Setty and wife Meredith of Dyer, IN. In addition, he leaves behind dear family friend Paul Hale, nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel on Friday, December 9, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 pm followed immediately by a Memorial/Celebration Service officiated by the Reverend Carter Tucker of Hartwell, Georgia.   1. The words to No, Not One come to mind concerning your losing the earthly body of this precious man. Never more dear to our hurting souls but in the times of most pain is the nearness of Jesus, and He reminds us that indeed there is no hour or dark night that He is not near us. Praise God that Ray’s spirit is alive and in the Presence of Jesus, the One Who is with you both! I pray God’s calming peace to your loving hearts.
